our
Modelling
We commence the steel shop drafting process by studying the latest structural and architectural drawings formulating a list of critical information required for the project. We then communicate RFI’s to Builders, architects, structural engineers for answers to model the structure in keeping with the architectural and structural intent.
Marking plans
Once the structure is modeled, we produce marking plans which may include-:
- Isometric views
- HD bolt or Cast-in plate marking plans
- Column layout marking plans
- Beam layout marking plans for each level of the structure including the roof
- Section & Elevation marking plans with beam positioning RL’s and dimensions
- Additional information for installation purposes
Shop drawings
Using our custom-made detail styles, we produce shop drawings for each structural component together with separate documentations for associated connection cleats and secondary members. A typical shop drawings package may include,
- A set of marking plans as listed above
- A set of shop drawings for beams, columns, lintels etc.
- A set of connection cleat sheets
- A set of secondary item sheets
- A set of Purlin detail sheets with bridging/strut details
- A structural member/part list
- A bolt list for the project including HD or anchor bolts
- NC data files (DSTV) for beams or connection cleats on request
With the completion of shop drafting process, a complete set of drawings for the project to our client for confirmation. Following potential reviews, the drawings will be re-issued for fabrication. CKDD will continue to support the clients throughout the installation process by providing critical dimensions off the structural model to ensure the installers perform their tasks efficiently.
